Krone Group builds new Future Lab Validation Centre
Lingen/Spelle, 28 february 2019. The first sod for the new Krone Validation Centre was cut today at the Lingen industrial park near the company’s headquarters. In his speech Bernard Krone, Managing Partner of the Krone Group, illustrated the objective of the centre which is to serve all divisions of the Krone Group. “We want to pull all of the Group’s validation activities together in one central unit. The Krone Future Lab will provide validation of the technical appropriateness of all our product developments and homologate vehicles and machines to the requirements of individual countries. The Lab will also provide accurate service life certifications for vehicles, machines and axles and develop autonomous driving concepts. “There are many interfaces within the various operations of the Krone Group and the new Lab will pool and synergize all this expertise,” adds Mr Krone. The Lingen industrial park offers an excellent infrastructure and direct access to the A31 Autobahn. Another advantage is the closeness of the Campus of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, a close partner of Krone.
The new Krone Future Lab will cover an area of 13 hectares. The blueprints show a building which houses a machine hall, workshops, a testing hall with test rigs, and offices. The Validation Centre also helps Krone to meet ever stricter regulations and laws and the increasing demands on quality, functionality and usability of products. The first stage of the Future Lab project involves an investment of approx. 20 million euro.
