The ZX range in for more operator comfort
Spelle, January 2019. Sustainable forage harvesting has always been a KRONE priority and also shows in the latest update of the Krone ZX forage wagons which focuses on the preservation of soil fertility. No fewer than two soil-friendly details have been implemented by the facelift. The ZX 430, ZX 470 and ZX 560 models receive electro-hydraulic suspension control for the pick-up on the one hand and more flotation tyre options on the other.
The suspension control is standard specification now and not only preserves soil health but also enhances operator comfort as it enables operators to adjust the pick-up pressure steplessly from the convenience of the cab – a Krone only feature. This also suggests that they can respond flexibly to varying conditions. The control system maintains a constant pressure on the pick-up so this rolls gently and still gathers the crop effectively even in rolling land.
Block tread for a healthy soil
For optimum protection of the delicate sward, Krone now offers two 30.5” tyres for the tandem and tridem ZX 430, ZX 470 and ZX 560 models. Buyers of these models can choose between 710/50 R 30.5 and 800/45 R 30.5 tyres which feature a special lug tread whereas the tridem-axle ZX 470 version takes 26.5” tyres only.
The special block tread pattern ensures grippy rolling even on extremely wet ground and enhances the self-cleaning abilities of the tyre. The bigger foot print reduces the ground pressure and compaction and the large 1.51m diameter makes for light pulling. Another strong point is reduced friction which translates into better fuel economy.
