Does a conditioner alone produce rapid wilts?

Rapid wilting is the be-all and end-all when it comes to getting forage into the clamp quickly. Yet, is it possible to get a fast wilt also from a mower conditioner alone without using a tedder? And is it possible to do without a conditioner at all? In a system comparison top agrar compared two different types of mowers to find out their effects on wilting and their power input requirements. One mower system was equipped with conditioners, the other wasn’t.
