Mobile platform for victory parade

Berlin/Werlte, 15th July 2014: In a record time of just four days, the staff at the Krone site in Werlte prepared a float for the World Cup victory parade in Berlin. Today (Tuesday), the combination consisting of an MB Actros and a specially adapted Krone Cool Liner served as a mobile platform on which the national team showed off the hard-won but well-deserved trophy to fans lining the parade route.

This unique ‘World Cup Liner’ was built by an experienced team of specialists from design, prototyping and assembly by adapting a Krone refrigerated trailer unit. The highly motivated staff performed all of the work on the vehicle itself, solving various one-off problems along the way. For example, the platform for the players required a stabilising structure to be welded underneath, serviceable railings had to be fitted and side panels attached.

“The request came at very short notice from Daimler AG, but we pulled out all the stops to rise to this sporting challenge in true world championship fashion,” said company owner Bernard Krone.

After Krone had finished the job on Saturday, applying proprietary just-in-time expertise, the trailer was immediately driven to Berlin for decoration.
