Spelle, 21 September 2011. Krone is now offering a disc cracker for its Big X 1100. Designed for effective kernel cracking on its Big X 1100 forager, the cracker is a Krone development that is able to match the huge throughputs of Big X 1100. This cracker offers an approx. 2.5 larger friction face than a standard disc cracker from Krone. Hence, the new Krone disc cracker is synonymous with smooth crop flow and optimum kernel damage as well as widest throws.

Extensive trials during the past three years demonstrated that the cracker delivers an excellent conditioning quality at even higher throughputs. In addition, the V-shaped discs allow for a wider friction gap and the driveshafts rotate without speed difference, both details leading to a further reduction in input power of up to 10%.
