Precision engineering for optimum cuts
Spelle in May 2018. Varying harvest conditions present multiple challenges to farmers and contractors as they strive to produce a consistent quality of cut. Krone responds to growing requirements by developing the existing cut-and-feed rotors on its RX and ZX forage wagon ranges.
Renowned for their smooth & efficient operation, these rotor cutters now have feed plates that are made from a particularly wear-resistant steel and have increased in width from 17 mm to 22 mm. In addition, the tips of the feed tines are asymmetrical now.
Furthermore and thanks to a patented modification, the space between the tip and the base of each blade was reduced – a crucial detail that enhances the cutting quality especially in varying conditions and a fact that has been confirmed in numerous field tests. Well-proven components, such as the robust spur gear driving the rotor on the RX models and the unique planetary gearbox with power belt on the ZX wagons continue to be important components on the Krone forage wagons. Besides, generously dimensioned, the cut-and-feed rotor warrants maximum throughputs and an optimum cutting quality.
