Enhanced folding technology on KW 8.82/8 tedders
Spelle, in april 2015. Lowering those 8 rotors dependably into work – also in extremely sloping terrain – is now warranted and a standard feature of the Krone KW 8.82/8 tedders. All Krone KW 8.82/8 tedder models now have double-acting rams which control the booms dependably, lowering them consistently and uniformly into work, even in very difficult terrain. Operator comfort was enhanced, too, because the hydraulic system eliminates the use of cables and latches.
Further KW 8.82 (8 rotors and 6 tine arms per rotor) stand-out design features are the Octo-Link clutches. Providing frictional connection in any position, these maintenance-free clutches require no lubrication. The same applies to the enclosed rotor gearboxes which are filled with semi-fluid grease. Mounted under the beams, these gearboxes also serve as structural parts.
Further plus points: Coupling close to the tractor, the KW 8.82/8 offers excellent weight distribution as the combination travels between fields. Also, the machine requires very little storage space. Its manual border spreading system produces perfect spread patterns, but a hydraulic system is also available as an option.
Here the KW 8.82/8 specifications:
Work width: 8.80 m
Output: nearly 9ha/h
No. of rotors: 8 No. of tine arms/ rotor: 6
Tractor power: approx. 55 kW/75hp
