Upgrade for the world’s largest rake

KRONE has revamped its Swadro 2000 six-rotor rake. Featuring new and stronger components and an optimised user interface, the new flagship in the KRONE rake programme, the Swadro TC 2000, boasts cutting-edge specifications that befit professional applications.

Spelle, September 2023.  First introduced in 2009, the Swadro 2000 with its 19m maximum wingspan is undisputedly the world’s largest centre delivery rake. This “world champion” has now been given a facelift that affects both the hardware and the ISOBUS terminal user interface. The updated Swadro TC 2000 features KRONE’s most recent user interface for ISOBUS machines which makes this machine very intuitive and convenient to use. Efficiency and reliability were optimised by upgrading a number of components while retaining the long-standing, well-proven and unique V-frame which spans the rotors up to 19 metres and retracts them to less than 3 metres for convenient road travel.

Changeovers from transport to work position and vice versa are 15% faster now courtesy of new valve chests. In working position, the V-folding system adjusts the leading and central rotors in parallel and infinitely variable to a different working width between 10 and 19 metres. The two rotors at the rear directly attached to the main beam and are repositioned hydraulically by the V-folding system for working widths between 1.60 and 2.80 metres and optimum swath widths for the following harvesters. Jockey wheels on the leading rotor arms give dependable stability and exceptionally quiet running in the field and on headlands, minimising turn-around times and maximising productivity.

Proven technology ensures optimum forage quality

The leading and central rotors have 13 tine arms, each of which boasts four double tines; the rear rotors have 15 tine arms with five double tines for loss-free rakes at high forward speeds. The KRONE Lift Tines pick up every single blade of grass without scratching the sward for minimum contamination. Like all KRONE rotary rakes, the Swadro TC 2000 has the DuraMax cam track with a hardened surface for hardest wearing and minimum maintenance. In addition, DuraMax provides exact tine control for clean, fluffy and boxy swaths. This positive effect is further enhanced by the KRONE EasyLine driveline which has the leading rotors spin at a 25% higher speed than the rear rotors for an optimal material flow through the machine and fluffy, boxy swaths.

Ground-friendly precision control

The Swadro TC 2000 bogies ride on four castering wheels which run close to the rotating tine arms for precision contouring. This and the cardanic rotor suspension which provides the so-called KRONE Jet Effect, as well as small rotor diameters and individual spring suspension ensure exact contouring in all conditions, reduced losses and effective sward protection.

For minimum ground pressure, the bogies run on intelligent and force-steered transport running gears and 800/50-17 flotation tyres. As soon as the machine moves into transport or headland position, the steering system of the transport axle kicks in automatically for easy managing of narrow gates and headlands. Another very useful and optional feature is the double-acting spool that allows operators to manually override the steering system for smooth passage through narrow gates, for example. Once the rotors arrive in their working positions, the steering system is locked automatically for good stability in the field.

User-friendly terminal

Operating the Swadro TC 2000 is also a peach. The new and intuitive ISOBUS user interface allows operators to control the machine with a touch of button and from the convenience of the cab. The terminal can be an existing tractor terminal or the optional KRONE DS 500, CCI 800 or CCI 1200 terminal or any other ISOBUS unit. From here, operators raise each of the six rotors individually, adjust the raking and swath widths as well as the rotor height. This level of operator comfort can only be topped by opting for the CCI A3 AUX joystick.

A special highlight on the Swadro TC 2000  is SectionControl which lifts and lowers the rotors via GPS positioning technology when the machine approaches the headland or  the next pass, reducing operator stress and maximising productivity. 

Summary: The new Swadro TC 2000 builds on long-standing and well-proven technology that is upgraded by further details and components that boost reliability and user-friendliness. In addition to maximum efficiency, this machine is designed for professional users and an uncompromising quality of work.
