KRONE GX 360 PLUS – the compact all-rounder

With a usable volume of up to 36 m3, the new compact GX 360 PLUS universal transport wagon impresses with its enormous versatility and new operating concept.

Spelle, September 2024: Three years after the GX 440 and GX 520 universal transport wagons, Krone is now launching the smaller brother GX 360 PLUS. With a transport volume of up to 36 m3, this rounds off the lower end of the product range and offers the ideal solution for small to medium-sized enterprises. Like its larger siblings, the GX 360 PLUS is also based on the tried-and-tested single-chassis concept and the pulled conveyor belt. A new feature here is the control of the hydraulic functions via preselection using KRONE PreSelect and subsequent operation via the tractor's control units.

Compact and universally applicable

The weight-saving and extremely stable base frame, in conjunction with the continuous high dropsides, ensures that this compactly constructed transport wagon has a high payload with a loading volume of up to 36 m3. The conveyor belt, made of multi-layered robust fabric and connected to a transparent front wall, is pulled hydraulically towards the tailgate using two pull chains. The speed of the belt can be infinitely varied via the flow rate of the tractor. In doing so, the load is transported very gently and without compression. The resilient properties of the conveyor belt cushion the impact of the goods during loading. This prevents damage to transported goods which are particularly sensitive to pressure, such as root crops and vegetables. Even fine bulk goods, such as grain, can be transported without loss, as the side walls are well sealed with rubber lips.

Variable with dual-function rear

Optionally, the GX 360 PLUS can be equipped with two discharge rollers at the rear to deposit grass and maize silage as an even forage carpet. When not in use, the discharge rollers can be quickly and easily coupled to the tailgate via two bolts on each side and swivelled up or even completely dismounted. In addition, the wide-opening tailgate and the front wall which can be pulled forwards and backwards enable quick and easy loading and unloading of unit loads, such as pallets or straw bales. A loading area cover is also available on request which prevents potential loss of loose goods during transport, especially when travelling at high speed on the road.

Comfort and safety included

A hydraulic articulated drawbar is fitted as standard which makes it easier to attach and detach the wagon, places more ballast on the tractor axle and, thanks to a high ground clearance of up to 70 cm, makes it easy to drive over silage heaps. In combination with the drawbar suspension, this ensures exceptional driving comfort in the field and on the road. As standard, the GX 360 PLUS is equipped with a tandem combined unit and a permissible axle load of 18 t. On request, the GX 360 PLUS can also be equipped with a hydraulic running gear and 20 t axle load, offering even more driving comfort and leaving nothing to be desired, especially on hilly terrain. The standard self-steering system prevents sward damage when cornering. Optionally, mechanical forced steering can be selected here. The GX 360 PLUS offers a wide range of tyre options: As standard, the transport wagon stands on large 26.5" wheels, either with rounded flanks or with maximum grip TRAC treads. The GX 360 PLUS can be optionally equipped with 30.5" tyres to meet the highest demands in terms of sward protection and contact area.
The GX 360 PLUS does not neglect safety either: The hydraulically folding underride guard not only ensures safe manoeuvring, but also prevents deposits during unloading as well as debris on the road.

GX family now available in PLUS and PRO variants

With the launch of the GX 360 PLUS, KRONE is also introducing new variant designations. In the GX product family, the suffixes "PLUS" and "PRO" will differentiate between two different operating and control concepts in future. The GX 360 PLUS, GX 440 PLUS, GX 440 PRO and GX 520 PRO models are available. This means that even the KRONE GX 440 is now available in the PLUS version.

The PLUS variants are characterised by their simple electronics and hydraulics as well as a rigid design and they ensure operational reliability under all conditions. To control the wagon, the hydraulic functions are first preselected via KRONE PreSelect and then executed via the tractor's control units.

The PRO variants are true specialists which fulfil all transport requirements with maximum comfort. In addition to the standard ISOBUS direct operation, a wide range of equipment options are available which meet even the most demanding requirements. An EBS braking system is also available, as well as a radio remote control for controlled unloading, hydraulically telescoping dropsides to reduce the drop height, a weighing device or electronic forced steering. In addition, all PRO models will be equipped with the "ExactUnload" function as standard which adjusts the unloading speed to the length of the silo and the driving speed of the tractor.

New: KRONE PreSelect preselect operation

The GX PLUS models are operated via a function preselection system using KRONE PreSelect and executed via tractor control units. This makes it possible to use even tractors without ISOBUS for the GX. The preselect operation is available in two variants – KRONE PreSelect DS 50 and KRONE PreSelect Digital.

The KRONE PreSelect DS 50 electric preselect operation allows the hydraulic functions to be preselected and then executed using the tractor's regulating valves. Here, the connection is made via a direct connection from the machine's drawbar interface to the KRONE PreSelect DS 50; power is supplied via the three-pin 12-volt plug.

The alternative for more comfort is the KRONE PreSelect Digital.  Here, the hydraulic functions are viewed and preselected via the ISOBUS terminal. It is also possible to carry out the preselection using a control lever with freely assignable ISOBUS keys. For this purpose, the drawbar interface is connected to the tractor's ISOBUS socket via an ISOBUS cable.

The function preselection option, using the KRONE PreSelect preselect operation, is also available for two-, three- and four-rotor rakes.

Conclusion: With the new GX 360 PLUS, KRONE is expanding its range of universal transport wagons with an additional model which has a transport volume of up to 36 m3 and is particularly ideal for self-mechanised operations. In addition, the KRONE PreSelect with the DS 50 offers a new operating variant which will allow the PLUS models to be operated by non-ISOBUS-compatible tractors in the future. As true all-rounders with the tried-and-tested unloading concept, the GX universal transport wagons can be used all year round to transport all kinds of goods and they impress with their numerous features in terms of comfort and safety. Or in short: One for all and all for one.
